Bully at the Grey Eagle in Asheville

I got to see Bully last night for the first time since the release of last year’s excellent album Sugaregg. The Grey Eagle was probably less than half full so a lot of people missed out. It was a high energy set with very little down time and plenty of old favorites from Bully’s first album Feels Like, as well as songs from the second album Losing, and the brand new single Just For Love. Bully’s Alicia Bognanno was amused when someone tossed a toy stuffed squirrel on stage and the highlight of the night was the encore when a kid who spent the show front and center requested Focused and the band played it even though they had not practiced it. This was for real as Alicia opted to not to try to play guitar on it. Very cool spontaneous moment and a treat for the young fan.

The whole band besides Alicia is different members now but they sounded really good including the songs pre-dating Sugaregg. Don’t miss them next time!
