Americana Fest is a multiday multi venue festival in Nashville. I was able to drop by for one show on my way through traveling home. I saw Carlene Carter, Lilly Hiatt, Sarah Shook and the Disarmers, Charlie Marie, and Adam Chaffins at the Basement East in Nashville.
The Basement East has been rebuilt since I was last there as it was hit by a tornado right before the pandemic hit. You would never have known though because it looked great. I’m especially glad Nashville has it back since scumbag real estate speculators are forcing the Cannery Row venues to relocate and are threatening the Exit/In.
The first couple of acts Adam Chaffins and Charlie Marie played to a small crowd but the place quickly got crowded as Sarah Shook and the Disarmers set time approached. They played to the biggest crowd of the night but most people did stay for Lilly Hiatt who was my favorite on the bill. Carlene Carter, daughter of June Carter Cash, wrapped things up to finish the evening.
It was fun to get to sample a bit of Americana Fest and make good use of a night I would have just spent in a hotel after driving all day.
