Favorite Songs of the 2010s # 3 “The Woodpile” by Frightened Rabbit

Frightened Rabbit

The Woodpile

From album Pedestrian Verse

Scott Hutchinson beckons his love to come with him and forget about this shitty, shitty world and try to make each other happy. It’s not your typically flowery love song and that makes it all the better. It’s about real imperfect people looking for actual love, not disney/hallmark/romcom love. The short guitar solo fits the mood of the song so flawlessly, bursting forth through everything adding a bit more joy to the situation, just as Scott is describing. It might be my favorite love song of all time.
