Sort of a cover. Amelia Meath sings the same song she had done previously with her band Mountain Man. The Mountain Man version is a cappela, the Sylvan Esso version very much is not. While Amelia is clearly a star we can see that Sylvan Esso’s other member producer Nick Sanborn is bringing a lot to the table too. It’s the best indie pop song of the decade.*
* Ok, I suppose it depends on your definition of indie pop. I don’t really consider any of the top 25 to be pop.
