Favorite Songs of the 2010s # 30 “Pink Rabbits” by The National

The National

Pink Rabbits

From album Trouble Will Find Me

This has everything the makes a great song by The National. The melody, the subtle flourishes you pick up on the 20th time you hear the songs, wonderfully bizarre lyrics like “I was a white girl in a crowd of white girls in the park” sung in Matt Berringer’s baritone voice, it’s a great example of why they’ve been one of, if not the, definitive indie rock band of the last 20 years.
