Strand of Oaks’ Timothy Showalter creates a relateable picture of his childhood and gets a big assist from Dinosaur Jr’s J Mascis on guitar. It’s a throwback rock single that is totally genuine and served as a great introduction to Strand of Oaks for me, a band I like more and more as time goes on.
