You didn’t think I’d go this whole list without getting some metal in here? Of course people will argue Deafheaven are everything from shoegaze to screamo, but I don’t really care what you call them, I like it whatever it is. Sunbather is the album that they blew up on and the title track has always been my favorite edging out the “single” Dream House. It’s as beautiful as it is brutal. Like it or not, and there are plenty of people who don’t, Deafheaven is one of if not the best metal bands of the 2010s.
