Death Dream

From album Painting of a Panic Attack

Painting of a Panic Attack seems liked like an odd choice for an album title until you press play and hear the very first song that the phrase comes from and you get a “holy fuck” moment you only get every so often when you hear something incredible for the first time. Scott Hutchinson’s absolutely haunting, vivid recounting of a dream he had about finding a loved one’s dead body in the kitchen after they committed suicide. The scene laid out before him, a painting of a panic attack. You feel every bit of the emotion in his lyrics and voice. It’s beautiful and terrible at once. It was deeply moving already for two years of the song’s existence.

And then Scott Hutchinson committed suicide himself.
