I love this song so much. I first heard it when I saw Future Islands play live in a tiny venue in Oxford Mississippi. I came to see Wye Oak who I assumed was the headliner but stuck around for the other band I didn’t know when it turned out they weren’t. Like anyone I’m sure, this one caught me off guard when I heard it but it’s definitely the one that made me take notice, more so than the soon to be mega hit Seasons. Unfortunately this is the only Future Islands song I’m aware of to feature blood curdling screaming along with the crooning that you usually find in their songs. It’s probably good for their career that this is the outlier but if all their music sounded like this they’d be one of my favorite bands.
