When I first heard this it sounded like nothing else I’d ever heard, almost a full decade later I still don’t think it sounds like much I’ve heard, including newer Sleigh Bells material. There first album Treats paired Alexis Krauss’s pop vocals with former Poison the Well guitarist Derek Miller’s absurdly distorted beats and purposely cheesy riffs. It seems like it shouldn’t work or could fall into novelty like Babymetal or something, but it worked well.
