From album The Suburbs
This one is like a golden oldie at this point, reaching back to 2010. Arcade Fire’s last couple of albums may have been a bit disappointing but let’s not forget how exceptionally good their first three are. Regine Chassagne gets all the vocals on Sprawl II and makes it one of Arcade Fire’s best songs. It’s easy to relate to the longing for meaning and hope for a better life the song describes. Arcade Fire are not afraid to go big, that may account for some of their recent miscues, but when they get it right, they really get it right.
